If this has been Katie inching towards the top 100 I'll be quite excited when she gets on a hurry up with her rankings progress

Be great if she could follow up the Krunic top 50 win of last week but would no doubt have to step up very significantly on yesterday.

Ha I just mean as she edges ever closer week by week, not about the speed which has been quick!

Gavrilova now serving for the match.

Went from 5-2 and serving for the match twice to 5-7. Nice comeback from Safarova.

Katie should be on next.

Broken after having a game point and Lesia consolidated to love. Doesn't appear to be carrying any injury niggles

*0-2

Saves a BP, *30-40. Some nice rallies here and she's definitely in the match. Another BP saved - deuce. Would be a great hold if she can.

A really important 12 min game, but Lesia takes her 6th BP and will now try and serve out the set 4-5*. Shame but Katie did have a couple of GPs herself there.

Lesia holds to 15 and takes the set 6-4.

Possibly a bit like the Bouchard-effect, but Katie does seem to have a few supporters in the crowd, certainly the more of the two.

Long way back, another fairly long game, but Katie broken to 40 again and Lesia has a set and a break 4-6 0-1*

Two DFs from LT helps Katie break back immediately. *1-1

This is a very solid performance considering the tournament level, and the quality of the opposition and Ms. Boulters scant exposure to either in her career to date.

Both do seem affected by the heat and there are a few errors creeping in from both, particularly from Katie this game and LT has 3 BPs 0-40.

She's acquitting herself well against a classy opponent. A few close games she could have taken to put additional pressure on, but this is still very early days at this level

Lost 4-6 2-6 with Tsurenko taking the last 5 games.

There were a few positives, particularly the the first set, but I think she'll be a bit disappointed overall - the 2nd set was littered with errors. Nevertheless it's good to see her playing more regularly against top 30-100 players these days and let's hope she reaches that big milestone soon.
