I imagine that when Greg's publisher suggested he should 'go on tour', the maximum physical effort they were expecting was him signing a few copies of his book in various places
It's 10 years since he first became the oldest Brit on the ATP singles rankings, 25 years since his first recorded result on ITF and (I'm reliably informed ...) 30 years since his first pro event, which was presumably something like an Australian money event, which is more or less their British Tour equivalent.

I just bought Greg's book the other day. I need to get reading it and then await the follow-up
Its a good read. I read it during my recent trip round parts of Europe last month. Funnily enough it also included a stop in Innsbruck! I was only there 3 weekends ago, shame it didnt work out to be this weekend!

As I know you're into details Steven, for the record it was September 1988, week 1 of the U$25,000 Australian (Queensland) Satellite circuit (which was the 4 week third tier circuit back then). Richard Fromberg beat Shane Barr (who made a comeback left handed after ruining his elbow - it's on youtube) in the final.

I'm reading it, just over halfway through now I think. Big respect to the guy for giving up a steady career to live the dream - not sure I'd have the nerve to do it! And a very interesting insight into life on the other side of the tennis circuit's tracks.
