First appearance in 5 years for Jennifer Allan; in over 2 years for both Lauren Harrington & Louie McLelland; a Pro debut for Anoushka Wooller, and a first domestic outing for OSW.
Bit harsh on Eden to be overlooked for a WC. Looks like Freya, Lissy, Emma Rad and Ella T for the WCs, unless there was a SE and either Sam or Beth didn't get in directly and one of the WCs went there.
A few names missing from that list - they couldn't have signed in. I'll go through my notes tomorrow
Who were you thinking off the top of your head TA?
There's 4 wildcards and I think Beth and Sam would have got in directly. The only person who I was expecting that isn't is Summer Yardley. Vicky Allen withdrew the other day.

Eden wasn't overlooked. Women can only receive 3 main draw WCs a year for ITF events, and having received main draw WCs at Glasgow and Loughborough in February and St Gaudens in May, she has already had the maximum number of main draw wild cards she is allowed.

I stand corrected, forgot about that French wildcard.
I guess with a bye a favourable final Q match, it's probably worked out well in that case. Eden should get there, can't see too many others outside of maybe Emily Arb and A Pitak, but then again, there were fairly surprise runs from Eden R and Vicky A over the grass season so you never know.
We had 9 in the main draw last year, so hopefully get even more than that this time.
Why in one of the few British 25k or 15k events didn't they give the WC;s to women who need a ranking - every other country does
Do they ? Maybe, but not something that I have noticed.
Pretty much a farce that a WC into a 25K can give you a point though I guess that's how it is so the temptation is there. Apart from the Slams and Masters events anyone has to win a round to get any ATP points and even there they don't give R1 points to WCs.

Anoushka Wooller is an elite junior squash player who has converted to tennis, technically that must bring with it some challenges? Is there any value to top spin in squash? A bit like converting from Rugby league to Union.

Anoushka played 12 junior ITF tournaments though - her name always jumped out - and county tennis and all that so she can't be that new to serious tennis.
But Federer also played squash too - not elite I guess but he said he played once a week with his dad all through his childhood and teanage years and also regularly with others. Evo claims to be a very dab hand at squash too. I see badminton players who've switched over - they've got a slightly quirky technique - haven't noticed any squash ones though.
Louie McLelland has been over in the States doing tennis at college, hasn't she? I remember seeing her playing Lisa Philipps at Surbiton.....
Jennifer Allan is a name that I don't know at all - she used to be WTA 654, I see.....
And I make there to be 5 juniors playing - Eloise put up a very decent performance recently (in June) against Kung who went all the way through to the final at Junior Wimbly - played well - will be interesting to see today.....
