Week 31 - WTA International ($250k) - Washington DC, USA - Hard

Sadly the restart was an absolute disaster. Bencic was far more focused than yesterday and Harriet didn't get out the locker room.

75 62 defeat.

A good effort against an established name. She's doing fine, and I'm sure will learn a lot from what happened in the first set which she should have put to bed

Bencic is very good. Would have liked to have seen the uninterrupted version of the match to better gague Harriet's performance 'flow'.
She didn't seem out of place against her illustrious opponent yesterday.

Harriet returns later for doubles. Katie Swan has singles still to come.

Katie Swan is now in the doubles with Rosalie Van Der Hoek as an Alt and will play Bencic and AnhelinaKalinina tomorrow.

Probably now Wednesday as current matches have been suspended due to rain.

The match before Katie's has just gone to a third set and with only an hour of play left until the 2am cut off, she'll need to be rescheduled tomorrow.

Katie Swan scheduled not before 19:00 UK - Saisai will have had plenty of recovery, despite retiring from the Nanchang final on Sunday.

Katie Boulter is last of the day, and may not get on court, 7th up, after 17:00 UK.

Bit nervous for Katie S. Tougher match with the delay but still a great opportunity to progress and more the way this section has opened up.

After reaching the Nanchang final last week without playing a top 100 player, if Zheng reaches the semi final here she will have done the same and basically set herself up for the rest of the year.
