So the who the heck knows option. Likely to be pretty interesting anyway.

Kyrgios's 7-5 6-2 win took 56 minutes. It doesn't look like they were exactly hanging around. 15 aces from Kyrgios helped that.

They seem to have only met once before, in R2 of Australian Open juniors back in 2013, when Nick won 3&1 on his way to his only junior singles slam title. Nick won the title here in Atlanta two years ago.

QF:  Purav Raja (IND) & Ken Skupski CR 139 (83+56) beat Taylor Fritz (USA) & Cameron Norrie CR 491 (279+212) by 3-6 6-1 [11-9]

Taylor & Cam did have a MP at 9-8* up in the MTB.

Mike Bryan WR 1 & Frances Tiafoe or (2) Ryan Harrison & Rajeev Ram next for Purav & Ken.

Have to say I am pleased with that doubles result. It can be fun from time to time watching our singles players dip their toe on the doubles water, but we all know they are only doing it for a bit of extra court time. It seems to happen a lot more just after a change of surface during the course of a season as they acclimatize to the new surface

But when they come up against our regular doubles players who are carving out a living for themselves on the doubles circuit, I will always support the specialist. Pleased for Ken that he got the win. I wonder if Neal is looking over his rankings shoulder at what is going on while he is away on WTT duty. A tournament win for Ken and he will take back the family bragging rights.

As for Cam, he is having a terrific week and can focus on his singles. Kyrgios could be very tough, although as has been stated above, anything could happen.

One break apiece in the second set.

Luke & Jonny 2-6 *5-6

So ...

1) Win their upcoming service game.
2) Then win the second set TB
3) Then win the MTB
