SF:  (Q) Paul Jubb WR 1466 defeated Julian Ocleppo (ITA) WR 1602 by 6-1 6-7(4) 6-2  smile

He had a match point at 5-4* in the second set, but the Italian held to 40, then broke Paul to love in the next game.  Clearly, however, he didn't panic, breaking back in the twelfth game, but couldnt quite get the upper hand in the tie-break.

*****

Final ( ):  (5) Denis Klok (RUS) WR 746 (CH = 713 last month) vs (Q) Paul Jubb WR 1466

Great stuff, and a good test in the final.

Does anybody know the general ranking area you need to be DA for most Futures? Qualifying must be a real soul crusher.

Firstly, a belated welcome from me to the board.

The cut off for entry into Futures Main Draw can vary dramatically from location to location and time of year.  I have seen occasions, particularly in places like Africa where unranked players have made the MD.  In other cases, Spain being a typical example, the cut off can be in the 600s or 700s.

You may already use this link

https://www.itftennis.com/procircuit/tournaments/men's-calendar.aspx

but I will post it just in case.  It shows the tournaments entry lists and you can see very clearly where the cut off will be for each tournament.

So, Klok is the bloke who beat Paul in R1 last week - although it was three sets .....

Time to set the record straight.....

at the bottom of the page are cut-off stats for last year. As has been said it varies a lot.

18 points for win puts him on 20 points and level with a certain A. Murray in live rankings. For a few days, anyway !
