Haven't really been following this but there seems to be hoo-hah that Andy got given a wildcard into Toronto (although his PR would have got him in anyway) and hence no wildcard for Stan who has to play qualis..... is this right? (not that it matters much but......)
Correct CD. Apparently Stan has said he is ok with that as he needs matches (and going out to Donald Young in Washington may prove that). Stan isn't eligible for PR as he didn't have 6 months out - he played in tournaments in Jan or Feb.
I can see both sides - yes Stan is a multi GS winner, former top 5 player etc but Andy is a former winner in Toronto (+ former no.1, multi slam winner). I think their other wcs have gone to Canadians.

So I guess the only 'controversy' really is why give Andy a wildcard if he was in anyway on his PR? Or is that because he can only use his PR a limited number of times, and so wanted a wildcard as that allows him an extra chance with his PR because this one doesn't count (coz it's a wildcard) ?
Either way, and like all the events, the committee has to decide, taking into account a lot of factors, who to give the wildcards to. And, like you say, the choice of Andy over Stan seems quite justifiable.
Maia is the only GB player in the Chiswick main draw.
Eden has used all her ITF wildcards and I think Jodie has as well. Who is likely to get the wildcards?
I'd go for Beth, Freya, Alicia and Emily A. They've all had decent wins recently and are deserving cases - that is unless Emma has asked for one but she isn't on the list.

Jodie has 1 ITF MDWC left. Eden and Freya have none left. Unless Fran is a surprise WC again, 4 from Jodie, Sam, Beth, Lissey and Emily App. I'd say Jodie and Emily for sure. We may be struggling for players with available MDWCs come the 2 autumn 25Ks.
