Novak made a $15K SF in June, as a result of that and other performances she will have her first ranking in the post-Wimbledon rankings lists of tomorrow.

Beth is also in the doubles but without Olivia. Instead she is playing with Romanian Laura-Ioana Andrei. They are top seeds and have a bye to the QF.

Beth's singles R1 is first match on court 2 tomorrow, 1:30 start (local time).

Beth has got a good doubles partner there - loads of experience and more than 40 title wins . Hope it works out this week.

This is a R32 match, not a Q match, and so a very useful 5 pts earned without too much difficulty for Beth. smile

First set looked straightforward, but an outbreak of doublefaultitis in the second made it harder going (5 for Beth, 9 for Kristina). Those five points should give Beth a rise of around 20 places though.

Good start.
This is the weakest $25K anywhere in the world so far this year, so, with Sarah Beth additionally seeded, hopefully a good chance to build a decent score.

Looks worse than that actually. From 4-2 deuce, Beth lost 18 points in a row, but has now won 4 in a row for 4-6 1-1*
