Week 29 - ATP 250 - Plava Laguna Croatia Open, Umag (Clay) - doubles

Dom is top seed with Frank Skugor , playing on clay this week, interesting choice. But I guess Skugor is Croatian by background so will get a few fans and may have got an appearance fee?

Edit:  removing the doubles label for a reason that will become obvious when I post.  wink

Edit:  changing back, for obvious reasons!

Dom played here last year. Reached the SF partnering Aljaz.

Makes sense then. And they've done ok on clay this season so far dues

Kyle will be playing singles here too. Might want to make it a joint Doubles/Singles thread.

Good chance Kyle could be top seed as well, unless there are any late WCs from the Top 16.

Will play the winner of Basilashvili and Lajovic, both of whom I think Kyle has beaten before.

Yep.  Looks like he has.  Not sure why.  He was tweeting about the tournament just a few days ago.

Good job I didn't book to go and support him, although watching Dom would have been fun.  May have to settle for giving Billy some support in Gandia this week.

Kyle's withdrawal is down to illness rather than injury. Hoping for a speedy recovery.

Maybe Kyle realised that grass -> clay -> hardcourt in a short space of time wasn't the wisest choice.

What a shame - get well soon Kyle.
(At least it's not a worrying injury.)
