And at this point, serving for the set and match, the live score has got stuck... But the next match is warming up now, so Lissey must have won the second set and match 2 sets to love, and that's an excellent win for her over the WR 327. smile

I'm gutted for Freya. She desperately needed that win and came so close. I wish I knew what's gone wrong for her. Is she still with Mark Taylor?

Not sure. She seemed to have Colin Beecher watching her at Surbiton, which would make sense if she's still at JTC which I thought she was. Not sure though.

They have changed it around. Mark Taylor looks after the boys group, Beechy is coaching Freya.

Assuming Alicia won, then her next match will be:-

R2: BARNETT, Alicia (GBR) Q 615 v ROGOWSKA, Olivia (AUS) 2 153 CH=102 2014

Sam in as a LL
Tough draw, but a chance.

R32: (LL) Samantha MURRAY (GBR) 493 v. Arina RODIONOVA (AUS) [1] 142 (CH 116, Oct. 2017)

Arina more than likely have far too much for Sam given Sam just coming back and her general results of late, but the bookies never seem to fancy Rodionova despite her high ranking. I remember them surprisingly having it pretty much 50/50 when she played Maia L in Portugal a couple of months ago (which she won comfortably if i remember correctly) and Swan was also the favourite in Portugal when Katie's ranking was nearer 300. Plus I was just looking at the odds and one bookie mustn't be aware that Jessica Pegula (ranked 349) has pulled out and have her the 1/2 favourite in their now cancelled match, with Rodionova 6/4 despite being #1 seed.

Alicia's doubles was not as productive:
R16: Barnett/Talcott (GBR/USA) 1065 lost to Marand/Robinson (USA/USA) 760 2-6 1-6

I presume Arina is not so heavily favoured by bookies because they realise she might have spent any given preceding night having to deal with her sister in some shape or form, and might have had a less than restful sleep.

Arina's sister is Anastasia. Anastasia has a famously volcanic temper. Arina often has to make best peace in her sisters wake in detriment to her own schedule.
For example, the infamous occasion when Poots met the Anastasia Rodionova, and Anastasia was in poisonous form. A prime but far from isolated example of Anastasia's antics negatively impacting her sisters itinerary.

I'm inclined to agree with the first sentence (sadly), though Sam leads the H2H 2-0, having beaten Arina 4 & 2 in Bendigo in 2011 and 4 & 1 in US Open qualifying in 2013.

Except it looks like Mark is over in Gatineau this week.

Just to categorically tie up the loose end: Alicia's result confirmed as 7-5 6-4
Her second best ever rankings win - her top two in that regard have now both come in the last six weeks
A chance to improve it even further in the next round.
