Sad times for Freya. She was something like 1-8 coming into the grass season and that solitary win was against an unranked, not young Korean wildcard and even the grass season ended 1-4 and while the Patterson victory looked good, Tammi lost all her grass court matches and was beaten more convincingly by young Vicki Allen so I'm not sure how much we can take from that victory.

If my calculations and stats are correct, Freya is 2-14 in her last 16 matches :(

Just checked and my stats were wrong - I was including the early grass season as part of the run. She was 1-6 coming into it and then 1-4 (1-5 including this defeat), so 2-11 and the worst thing is, her last 8 losses have all been in straight sets and not particularly close either.

It's 2-11 including the Savinkyh loss in April where to be fair, she came through qualifying and won her L32 match.

A simpler second set and Jodie is through to the round of 16, beats qualifier Chen, 6-4 6-1

Thought no posts for 25 mins may have meant bad news, but Jodie has just this second successfully served for the match and held to 15, winning 6-4 6-1. Decent win, they were both 5/6 coming into this and wins at 25k level are always welcome :)

Freya's conqueror Sharma next.

Well it was just that second as I was writing it, but took about 2 mins to find out who she was playing next, ha.
