Katie Boulter

Katie's always got a good sense of humour

Alex was in Madrid, claiming he was enjoying just walking around, and only finally got a bit of service

With Katie writing:

Imagine blaming a country black-out for not texting me back all day !!!!!!!!! Elite behaviour

So proud of Katie for calling out player abuse on social media. Especially the abuse directed against our young up and coming stars. I hope the powers that be take some action, the abuse on social media against Mimi was horrible. Well done Katie. MBE. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/tennis/articles/cj42rvdk2k4o

Awful to read what abuse these players receive. Some very disturbed people we have in our society. Poor Emma having that guy stalking her. All these people should be prosecuted and made to pay in some way for their disgusting behaviour.

According to Instagram Katie has split with her coach. Very warm comments but no indication whose decision this was. Wonder if anyone has any insight into this?

Given that her coach returned to Wrexham before she finished her far east swing, it was decided a couple of weeks ago.
I suspect it was mutual.
Katie has probably over achieved by getting into the top 32 and is starting to decline.
Interesting to see who Bilijana coaches next - i think a GB player as she is part of the LTA coaching hierarchy.

An alternative spin might be that Katie felt with her poor run of results a new set of eyes were needed. I doubt she would want to end her career at this low ebb. For the sake of the BJK Cup team, we have depended on her for our success over the last few years, while Emma went through her hiatus of injuries and Sonay found her feet. I wouldnt like to write her off just yet.

Shes only 29. No reason to think that with a new coach she cant get back to top 30if she stays fit.

Seven of the top 20 are 29 or older - plenty of time yet.

Yes, impacted of course by various issues, Katie only first decisively entered the top 100 in 2023. Stay fit and well now, and talk of reaching the end of her career seems very strange. I would have thought she would more feel she has years to catch up on.

Bilijana didn't travel with Katie much AFAIK, she probably needs someone full time with her next season.

Interesting Beeb (Russell Fuller) article:  Body or ranking - Boulter's Australian Open dilemma.  Mentions her search for a new coach.
