Week 27 - ITF ($15K) - Den Haag, Netherlands Clay

And what is the WR176 doing in a 15k anyway? The points are useless to her. At the moment Emily's CB win is only 414. She'll have to beat that by miles just to gain a solitary point! I'm sure Emily is wondering quite what she is doing there at this point in time.

Well, not completely useless - Ivakhnenko has a couple of 5 point counters. But point taken, shouldn't really be there.

The bad luck of the draw went about as well as expected, with Emily winning just 2 games in a 1 & 1 loss.

Not entirely sure what Emily is doing here - She has to win it to improve her doubles raking - then only nett +5 confuse

Well she was in the singles as well. 15K is her general singles level and her 16th counter there is a one pointer. Though it would have helped if she had never for whatever reason withdrawn, then came back into qualifying and ended up drawing the top seed ( and a top 200 player at that ) in the MD.

Emily into her umpteenth $15K doubles final; winning with Ida today, 6-4 6-2, over the #4 seeded pair

Needs to win it to progress. It's her singles ranking I'm more worried about smilecry.

Not sure where ABB got that score from but it wasn't The Hague confuse Emily and Ida play the 3rd seeds now in the final. Points at stake now as Strongbow notes! Perhaps more to the point Emily is entered for another Dutch 15k next week where she is 3rd on the entry list. The person who wrecked her tournament this week, Ivakhnenko, is not to be seen on that entry list. The WR 176 is today being fed Emily's doubles opponent Julyette etc for the singles slaughter in the QF.

F: Emily APPLETON/ Ida JARLSKOG (GBR/SWE) [2] 1088 (452+636) vs Dasha Ivanova/ Julyette Maria Josephine Steur (USA/GER)

Ivakhnenko actually lost in 3 sets to Emily's doubles opponent today.

Emily continues to hoover up $15K dubs titles. The 4 & 0 win today was her ninth such title - all in the last two years.

Well done

Looking at the ITF site, it appears to 'just' be Emily's 8th title ( all doubles 15K ) and to narrow it down further, all in the last 10 months.

Great to see Emily and Ida beat Ms JMS Steur. Perhaps she was still on cloud 9 after her singles win against Ivakhnenko.

How Emily would love to turn some of these doubles trophies into singles trophies. Well, starting again next week...
