Crowd seem a bit subdued here. Gabi played some wonderful shots on that brilliant hold just before including the one where she slipped and some barely mustered a clap. Possibly more regular / less biased tennis fans than the more seasonal ones on Centre in the Broady-Garbine match, but you'd hardly realise there was a Brit playing here at times.

Yes. I was surprised. If anything, they seemed more bouchard .... because they've heard of her?

I think Bouchard has quite a following and I guess they all camped out on Court 14. Steven tweeted that he was in the queue waiting to get in, and no doubt a few other British fans were also unable to get in.

Yes I was disappointed with how pro Bouchard the rest of the crowd was - there was definitely a minority of us wanting a Gabi win. Disappointing on home soil.

That's not the only issue re: Taylor/Bouchard:

Awkward situation on court 14. Gabi Taylors parents having to sit next to Eugenie Bouchards coaches as crowd packed into the stands and nowhere was reserved #Wimbledon

BTW- there is such a thing call the Genie Army...she has a heap of fans (don't ask me why)

If you ignore the horrendous opening set, Gabi played well, including some stunning tennis to recover from 0-40 at 1-4 in the final set. In the 2nd set she managed to break Genie twice but never put pressure on the Bouchard serve in the opening and final sets.

Yup, Gabi did fine in the end.

Like Harriet she could have beaten a lot of girls in the draw.

Been an impressive outing for the young Brits so far, doing themselves proud even in defeat.

Why does she have a heap of fans?  I'm afraid it is because she is good looking.

Yes. The wildcards have been very well deserved, by all.

Hoping Katie B and Katy can keep the run going

I'll go 3. Jo, Katie B and one more, not necessarily Heather or Gabi, who I'd make both as underdogs.

Thought Id check on your predictions. Just saying.

Katy D is *not* an underdog!? confuse

Big blow for a potential winner, Petra Kvitova ousted. Retired from Eastbourne so maybe still not 100%.

Several seeds on the men's side have gone today.

Katie playing really well. Seems so composed.

More willing to stay in rallies than when I've seen her in the past.
