Gabi is swiftly 0-4* down.

Come on Gabi. Have to come back for the second set. Dont let Bouchard steamroller you in the second set.

I think the loss to Vekic, rather than spur her on, has absolutely deflated her.

She's been poor in her three matches since.

Naomi played well. But she does seem to be a bit stuck now in the 120-150.

Hope for a good rest of the year

Awful start from Gabi, *0-5 and 5-22 in terms of points. Looks to be really struggling at this higher level as out of her 20 odd wins over the winter period, I'm not sure if any were top 200 or very few were if so. Might just take her a bit more time and not writing her off, but doesn't look like she has the weapons of some of the others her age when at the time, it looked like she may be the most promising.

Would love to see her turn this around but it's looking very unlikely and like one of those typical wildcard performances that have been criticised in the past.

30-30 now, so a chance to at least get on the board.

Gabi doesn't have the power of shot that Katie B and S and Harriet have, but she has variety in her game and is still learning. She only narrowly lost to Vekic on grass at Nottingham, but otherwise her grass court season has certainly been nothing much. Still she probably needs a period of consolidation and playing some higher level ITF events next will probably be good for her.

Gabi's lost her first serve! If only she could find it I think this would be a much more competitive match. C'mon Gabi!!!!

Brilliant Gabi. Takes the second set. That took guts after the first set bagel.

Crowd seem a bit subdued here. Gabi played some wonderful shots on that brilliant hold just before including the one where she slipped and some barely mustered a clap. Possibly more regular / less biased tennis fans than the more seasonal ones on Centre in the Broady-Garbine match, but you'd hardly realise there was a Brit playing here at times.

Gabi serving to stay in the match now at *2-5 final set.

Genie now serving for it 3-5* after a nice hold. Looks like Gabi wanted the trainer, but was told to wait one more game, but may not be needed then. 0-15*
