Such a pleasure to see Katy going toe to toe in rallies with Ostapenko and enjoying every minute of it. Goes down 3 and 6 but great showing. Well done Katy.

I enjoyed that. Shame Katy couldn't convert either of the set points but she clearly enjoyed every second of that.

Well Ostapenko served for the match - and Katy broke. However, Ostapenko was always edging the tie-break.
Much better choice to watch that match rather then England 0-0 at half-time.

I really enjoyed watching Dunne, I loved how she completely took all the positives out of it - smiled, laughed and gave a good showing. Not sure I saw many weapons... but she's got a decently rounded counter puncher type game.

Katie D was such a pleasure to watch. What a lovely girl.

Heather played some nice stuff but never looked like winning. Big hit to her ranking but she is playing top 100 stuff.

I think all the girls who went out did themselves proud, especially the newbies.

We really could have 5or 6 wins with slighter better draws

I thought Katy D did well but she lacks weight of shot Jelena had the match to win or lose Katy has no major weapons

Perhaps true, but I think a lot of our players would've struggled with Ostapenko's weight of shot, and Katy stayed with her. Needs to work on second serve and general power for sure. But I really liked how she wasn't afraid to hit through the ball on returns instead of slicing it back. Really wish Naomi had done the same - though she too should be proud.
