Weeks 27 & 28 - The Championships, Wimbledon - women's singles (grass)

Gb winners so far, Katie s, Katie B, Konta and kyle.

Looks like there's a pattern. K for King or indeed Queen

Come on Katy d.!

And Heather, of course - what's heathers middle name?

Katie Boulter buried some demons . After missing that match point to win was a great effort . Her service game to win the match was excellent . Hopefully shes learned a lot during that rollercoaster .

Yes, rightly or wrongly I seemed more understanding than some re the second set conclusion ( this was huge for her! ). But she regrouped and next time she coped so much better. At least we agree that she's hopefully learned a lot today, mostly about herself, and there was a mixture there.

Of course she could/should have won it in 2 and if she had lost she would no doubt have been very hard on herself. But she got there.

Glad to see the gutsy Brit performances still continuing. Katie B had to dig deep there and both players were tired after many long rallies throughout the match, but wonderful to see Katie B hold it together well at the end, with VCR tightening up in a similar way Katie did end of second set.

And was really pleased to see Gabi make a good match at the end of her game, after conceding the first set in a flash. Was good to see her find her range, and even if she doesn't have major weapons, she still has good groundstrokes and a tidy serve. The determination of all this group of 5 is lovely to see, and good that at least 2 now have gone through to the second round, but all have fully justified their WCs. Now up to Katy D not to be overawed by her surroundings!

And Gabi. There was only 1 break in that final set of hers too.

Personally, I am yet to be as invested in Gabi as Jay; have seen him play more than her at the present moment in time.

Heather loses first set, immediately gets broken at the start of the 2nd.
