Yes indeed for Holly, seems privilege and knowing the right people got her this place. But we shouldnt be surprised with the British Tennis aristocracy now should we. A complete waste of everyones time with that QWC.
Edited to add on the other hand Fran is a different story and worthy of a shot all things considered, seems to have a given a good account against a top 100 ability player like Gibbs.

Watched the Bouchard match and she played really well, however her interview with the BBC was cringeworthy totally off hand. Bouncy was not impressed by her attitude!
What a rude interview by Bouchard after winning her qualifying match. One word answers and sulky demeanour. Do we have to always have her on the televised courts? Its obvious why but bit sick of the drooling over her.
Anyway, good luck to Maia and Tara later and come on to Emma and Sam. Wish could see you on Court 11!
Yes Bouchard is very unpleasant, about as popular as Sharapova with her peers. Similarly lorded by the media like Kournikova back in the day.
Sadly the way its looking just now it could be a total 0/7 wipeout for the girls here today. I think the only chance we have is maybe Tara but I guess it depends on what Tara turns up. Serving stats will be vital.
I thought Maia would do better against Ankita Raina, but she is also a set down 2-6. Is this Maia's first match on grass? She certainly hasn't played much on it, since she started the first two weeks of the grass season on the 'carpet' of Obidos.
Emma keeps failing to take BPs. She's had plenty of them, but has failed so far to take advantage of them.

Now that was such a shock re Holly, not. Sorry for her being put in that position. And don't give me it was a good use of a WC for "experience". Hope she can stay fit and progress forward again at a much more appropriate level since she is clearly a very good prospect.
Emma has at least really shown something in senior ITFs this year. C'mon girl !
True, but Emma's she's 15, and getting more BPs than her opponent, so I'm encouraged. There've been several breaks of serve in the match, and a couple in this second set.

The Holly choice, following the men's ( boys ) is very much more about she is seen as a possible top senior in the years to come as against those older players who no longer are and probably keeping her and her family sweet re representing GB. Not everything is about privilege / aristocracy / Tories etc !
