And he wins.

Great to see 4 through to the 2nd round

QR2:  Stéphane Robert (FRA) WR 157 (CH  = 50 in October 2016) vs (qWC) Lloyd Glasspool WR 581

Robert dumped out the German q7, Yannick Hanfmann, in straight sets.  He may be 38 now, but I can't see Lloyd getting past him.

QR1:  (qWC) James Ward WR 363 defeated Marco Trungelliti (ARG) WR 203 by 6-3 7-6(0)

Likely to be Frat Boy in QR2.

I knew they all had a good chance and not surprised that they all won but did expect one to fall short.

Isn't Tuesday Ladies day at Roehampton ?  I assume Dan will play on Weds.

And the Frat Boy it is:

QR2:   (q14) Bjorn Fratangelo (USA) WR 131 (CH = 99 in June 2106) vs (qWC) James Ward WR 363

Lloyd is the one Brit on court 11 tomorrow - fourth on following two Wimbledon finalists (Bouchard/Lisicki)

Not that bad looking efforts by our 4 juniors considering how hugely lacking experience they are at such a level and generally hugely out ranked they were. Probably about as much as could be realistically hoped for.

Good stuff so far from those who are much more ready for this level.

Hmm, I think you're probably right, but I couldn't help think as the four more experienced ones went thru what some of those who were knocked out in pre-qualies would have done with draws like Safwat. Maybe just getting guys thru' isn't priority, but still a bit frustrated, given how well the older ones did that we didn't see a couple more of them there.

Suspect Loffhagen, Draper and McHugh will have a good few years of QWCs to come.

That said, it'll be good experience I guess.

Don't they normally try and get Womens first round, followed by Mens 2nd round done on Tuesday, with  Men then getting a day off before the five setter on Thursday?

The website says that tomorrow is Women's QR1 plus men's QR2. Wednesday is women's QR2 and some of men's FQR. And thursday is FQR for everyone. Like last year.

Order of play out and all the men playing tomorrow as well as the ladies - Dan on court 16.

Don't know if all the QR2 guys play on Tuesday. But certainly don't think there can be any complaints about Dan being scheduled to play last on Tuesday and then have the day off on Wednesday if he gets through, prior to the 5 set FQR. Earlyish Monday, last on Tuesday, then Thursday looks good to me.

Danger of thinking everything is a conspiracy against Dan !!
