Week 26 - Wimbledon men's qualifying singles, Roehampton, Great Britain (grass)

The Wimbledon site has only managed to produce the top half of the mens qualifying draw . What a shambles of an organisation.

James gets a nice draw against a French Open story maker

(3) Ilya Ivashka (BLR) v (WC) Dan Evans
(5) Jurgen Zopp (EST) v (WC) George Loffhagen
Sergio Gutierrez-Ferrol (ESP) v (WC) Lloyd Glasspool
(WC) Aidan McHugh v (WC) Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (ESP)
Mohamed Safwat (EGY) v (WC) Jack Draper
Zdenek Kolar (CZE) v (WC) Anton Matusevich
(WC) Alex Ward v Darian King (BAR)
(WC) James Ward v Marco Trungelliti (ARG)

I think Lloyd has a chance the Spaniard is ranked 238 or so. James and Alex have a good chance too.

Odd, because I've just looked and can see the whole lot - not in one go, admittedly.

There's  a diagram at the top, click on bottom half to see lower half of draw.

Can someone explain to me precisely what the Spaniard did to warrant a qWC?  confuse

Few of the opponents have much of a track record on grass - apart from Ivashka, Zopp has qualified once, Davidovich Fokina is the reigning junior champion and King reached the quarters this week at Ilkley

OOP on the Wimbledon app is showing start times as 16:00. I assume this is wrong and its a midday start at least. Anyone know?

The site currently shows 11am starts on all courts

Don't know which court they are streaming but 9 has a couple of marquee names (Mahut/Dustin Brown) and no Brits. Dan is second on 11 following Tomic, so is another contender. most of the other Brits are on 14/16

I could see[and particularly hear]Kings match at Ilkley last Wednesday from one end high up on  the Centre Court where I was watching Jordan Thompson's match. King won but there seemed to be quite a lot of disputed calls mainly by him[no idea whether they were valid complaints or not]judging from the constant verbal retorts from his direction

Won the boys singles last year...

Fancy James W, Lloyd Glasspool to win. Dan is a tough one, he should hope to win but it could be a touch and go match...but if he gets through that. Polmans can play on grass also but Dan should win that. Donald Young at the FQR stage though.

Going to back Dan but dont think we will see anyone else get through, and qualify I am afraid.

11 is the show court so should be televised.

Dan had a tough opponent but he did lose in Ilkley to a qualifier and has a live ranking of 126. You can do it Dan!

Perhaps the Spaniard was the 1st alt on the list.

I have to say, I wouldn't want to be Jack, Anton, Aidan or George, I'd feel like I was being thrown to the lions.

At least James, Alex, and Dan have had considerable experience of playing folks ranked that high.

Won the boys singles last year...

Ah, thanks, Jon.  To my eternal shame (perhaps), I'm afraid I lose interest in the juniors when the last of ours goes out!
