He's 38 years old, a real beach surfer dude, and tweeted yesterday that he was having a ball playing Wimbly qualis, that he'd only taken the Eurostar over yesterday morning, hadn't even come a day early, even though he'd played a clay tournament last week, got stuck in the train for two hours, nearly missed his match, but just made it - and beat the 7th seed in two sets.
Glad you remember him, scottie.
And just a final smile for the 'oldie' who made it through qualis yesterday and into the MD at age 38.
You've also got to love the man who says 'thank you sir' SO respectfully to the umpire at the end of the match.
And also grabs himself a couple of drinks and extra bananas out of the provided cool box before leaving court at the end - rather like bagging a few croissants from the free breakfast you get at the hotel - when you've been on the circuit as long as him, you know that the pennies count
I am ultra p***ed off about this. Im not sure if it means they have all my bank details as I generally say when prompted that I dont want them to keep them on file for this very reason. Unfortunately I cant remember whether they asked this or not. If its only the account with Ticketmaster, Ill just change the password for that.
In the interim I have notified that I want to sign up for the check. Im not sure if I want to change all my bank details because of the hassle. I used a debit card not a credit card. Im not sure if that makes a difference in terms of security.
Im starting to think that its hacking thats a security issue not all the issues the GDPR was supposed to resolve.
As for the homophobia thing and Dan, its not something Ive been aware of before. Its certainly disappointing, as I thought his generation were a lot more enlightened. I really hoped it would die out over the years. So much of these things can be down to who you mix with. For instance I have known people with both racist and homophobic views but Ive challenged them. They may not have changed their perspective but they certainly dont say anything homophobic or racist in front of me.

Like you, p***ed off.
Nothing of any help to add, Nix, but just to provide solidarity.
I'm not signing up for the check (after Experian last year, it makes me sceptical but I may well be wrong)
Called the bank hotline yesterday and they just advise ultra vigilance for a few weeks and are used to this sort of thing. However, might change my card - it's easy to do....
I realise it's not their fault at all but when I asked the AELTC and Ticketmaster bods yesterday there was nothing, no comment, a huge 'nothing to do with us at all' from the AELTC/LTA. One guy even said it was our choice to use Ticketmaster so our fault!!! I said there was no choice. He said you've always got a choice. Yes, don't come. (or pay for all the travel and take the risk there;s none on the door). Helpful. What is the problem with putting out a sympathetic statement? Instead you get officious and rude.

James put in a decent shift - didn't watch all of it.
Bonzi was just that bit too consistent, too good in defence, and got James doing things he didn't like.
But James is back at a decent level - it didn't end quite how he wanted but I would have thought that, overall, he'd be pleased with his showing.
Amazing that there were 6 Italians in the men's FQR yesterday - only 2 got through but LOTS of excitable, voluble Italians around adds to the atmosphere
Special congrats to Travaglia - seemingly he crashed through a window in 2011 and has no feeling in his right hand except his little finger - and he's right-handed.
The Aussies were out in force too (and they're not a quiet bunch either) and got through three of their men through. I'd been watching Alex Bolt since Surbiton - that man is playing good tennis. His match against Kokkinakis was a crowd favourite.
All three of the French guys won, with Robert being the oldest guy to qualify since 1974.
Two Americans also.
Hats off to Garin, too, from Chile, ex-top junior and junior Slam winner, age 22 and working his way slowly toward the top 100. Some excellent tennis this week - and more very excitable spectators.

As you say CD manners cost nothing; saying that it was our choice to use Ticketmaster is just ridiculous and rude. Its an illusion of choice if you want to be guaranteed to get tickets at popular events. I was at Eastbourne today and thankfully everyone I encountered was absolutely charming. So it can be done while still ensuring that everyone follows the necessary processes. Hopefully your next tennis experience is more pleasant!
