I am ultra p***ed off about this. Im not sure if it means they have all my bank details as I generally say when prompted that I dont want them to keep them on file for this very reason. Unfortunately I cant remember whether they asked this or not. If its only the account with Ticketmaster, Ill just change the password for that.

In the interim I have notified that I want to sign up for the check. Im not sure if I want to change all my bank details because of the hassle. I used a debit card not a credit card. Im not sure if that makes a difference in terms of security.

Im starting to think that its hacking thats a security issue not all the issues the GDPR was supposed to resolve.

As for the homophobia thing and Dan, its not something Ive been aware of before. Its certainly disappointing, as I thought his generation were a lot more enlightened. I really hoped it would die out over the years. So much of these things can be down to who you mix with. For instance I have known people with both racist and homophobic views but Ive challenged them. They may not have changed their perspective but they certainly dont say anything homophobic or racist in front of me.

Re: Dan

As a gay man who gets called a faggot from strangers just walking around my city I really hope someone has explained to Dan the power words have, how derogatory words are used to other minority groups and how, as a privileged straight man in the public sphere he has an opportunity to help minority groups, not continue the age old rhetoric. I still have to call out my friends and members of my family on using gay terms in a negative way. To them it is just a word, but once I have explained it to them I think they understand more.

Anyway, looking forward to the main draw starting!

I can totally relate as I have had abuse my whole life due to my minority traits. I actually wrote an academic report on it this year, so am more inclined to state my views and call people out as I realise even more how much harm it does to me and others.

White, straight, male is still the most privileged group, and those of us that don't fall into it have a hard time with the -ist remarks that come our way. Dan's sort of comments open up bags of hurt for a lot of us.

TBH I didn't want to go there as I knew that they would be among those people thinking words like Faggot etc are completely 'innocent and disposable' or have no connection to mental heath conditions or hate crimes. As stated those opinions won't change, certainly not from reading a thread on a tennis forum. Remember that there are also hundreds of tennis players on the circuit that we all know and probably support that are 'closeted' and frightened of coming out due to losing sponsorship, fans, respect etc. Again, it's something that a lot of people take for granted, to be who you want to be. How would it make you feel if a Player shouted 'faggot' and you were playing against him and no violation was given? Regardless of who it was said to.

Yesterday there was a horrible article about the racism that Jay suffers on a daily basis - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/tennis/44625672 It's rare that racism is addressed but it does get addressed and there are investigations into players breaching violations. LGBT isn't even on the radar and might not be for another decade.

IMO yes and it has done. If it offends you then just scroll down. I know that might waste a few seconds though so be prepared

I was glad this was brought to light, one of the many things that should be. I only hope that this will start constructive public discussions, but I'm not holding my breath.

I disagree, I remember it being raised about Martina (Navratilova) years ago, and more recently about Amelie when she was appointed by Andy. For me, LGBT... issues have been given more air time than racism in UK tennis, as Jay is the first PoC in the spotlight. I think it will be more talked about as Emma comes through as well.

We are moving forward, just not quickly enough.
