My thoughts, onwards to the US open - perhaps THEY will give him a wild card. I hate the way the British media (or was it the commentators ?) talk about him having a 'doping ban' which, as others have remarked, implies he was a cheater, which he so was not.

A shame, but ultimately you reap what you sow. People here didn't seem that bothered about this event, with only a few token posts after Lloyd and Alex W had both completed a set. Cosmic karma works in funny ways and therefore I'm not surprised this indifference from a forum purporting to have their backs ultimately proved costly.

Just the result the Wimbledon cretinous establishment and one or two posters on here were wishing for, never made a mistake in your life hey?

Come on Dan , US qualies not far away!

Far from it , I followed the progress of James,Alex and Dan as best I could given the media available.

Very pleased for James, too soon for Dan to hit form but delighted to see him back and following every match with interest.

Maybe when we're watching livescores or available media we're not posting because we're following the game.

Indeed so much tennis going on at the moment it's hard to keep up with it, let alone post much on the forum!

Precisely ! Hard enough following a whole bunch of matches while at work. I've been using laptop and tablet whilst working on desktop.

Anyway, don't remember seeing many posts from JS today !

Gave him a reaction. So should keep him happy.

Aw bless, if he has nothing else in his life I'm happy to contribute....

Meanwhile - too much tennis for Dan in a short period of time, I'm thrilled to see JW through to the final QW and Cam through at Eastbourne in 3 sets .

Generally in that blissful state that is tennis in the UK and on terrestrial . Might have to wangle something for Andy's match tomorrow.

Principles.....

"Maria Sharapova decided not to play in Birmingham this year, even though she signed a two-year deal to appear when the LTA gave her a wildcard for last years tournament. She needed the practice back then, when she was just making her comeback from a 15-month ban for using meldonium."

Must be that recreational non-performance enhancing Cocaine taken by a Brummie working class lad is worse than the performance enhancing doping drug meldonium that the drawcard pova took.

Perhaps we didn't post because we were actually AT the event, with no indifference at all, but solidly having their backs, in person and at high volume !

I havent followed the tennis closely today, working harder than usual for me! (dont tell my client that! Or my wife!)

Has anyone any insight into what happened to Dan? It seems like he just hit a wall looking at the score and comments , is that broadly it??

Well done to Wardy, anyone know who he plays next, I couldnt find a post but I am sure there is one (sorry SC or BiS if they have posted it!)

There wasn't, Jon, as the match to decide Dino's opponent was still in play when his finished, but, as if by magic:

FQR:  (qWC) James Ward WR 363 vs Benjamin Bonzi (FRA) WR 285 (CH = 176 last October)

It will, I believe, be the best of five.  Bonzi despatched the q 32, Bublik, by 3 & 4 in his match.

In competitive sports, doping is the use of banned athletic performance-enhancing drugs by athletic competitors.

Damn that performance enhancing cocaine. Not during a tournament. On a night out.
