Ok, this takes out half the fun of the lead up to Wimbledon now (and apologies to James, who I hope makes it through the FQR too). But we might as well start now, very little else still in the wait and see camp between now and next Monday....
What a disgrace the AELTC are! Evans served his ban and the slate is clean. Why make a former top 50 player pre-qualify for a qualifying tournament for a home slam.
They obviously did not want Dan to qualify and grace Wimbledon
Given his year off, I think it is remarkable the number of matches/wins that Dan has achieved so far in his comeback. In the longer term, it may well have done him the world of good in terms of match fitness, but it may also led to fatigue being a factor in today's performance. A helping hand along the way from the AELTC could have made all the difference. As with most others on here, I think Dan deserved that helping hand, even if only into the qualifying.
The AELTC gets its wish in the end, and Evo loses out. Absurd decision and Im not in the least bit surprised that Dan has run out of gas after all the tennis hes played recently. Ridiculous in the extreme, and Im truly miffed that I wont now get to follow Evo at Wimby
