Anna is playing Southsea I think

Well obviously she might be now. She definately wanted to play Eastbourne as this interaction on her Instagram account proves.

She should have been playing Eastbourne indeed. It has certainly surprised me that our top womans doubles player hasn't played in any of the 3 WTA warm up grass tournaments in the UK. I note that Dom Inglot, who has also played two outside the UK with his non-Brit partner, like Anna, is playing Eastbourne.

Anna's been playing on grass though and not at all badly too in reaching a couple of WTA International SFs. But shock, horror, with a foreign partner. Hmm ...

Her relatively new partnership with Xenia seems to be coming along nicely. Assuming that that is who she would have been playing with, it would have been good to tune it up further at Eastbourne against top class opposition in advance of Wimbledon.

#homeisbest  ?

Yes, I'd like to see Anna and Xenia get beyond the SF's though. They've been regularly winning 1-2 matches per tournament but not the 3-4 you need to reach finals and win titles. In terms of points she has one counter of 60 and another of 85, so these 110 points for reach 250k SF's are still helping her edge upwards - or really maintain her existing position, so she needs more, especially as she now has 5 counters that are 110 or 105 points, and only 4 that are higher. And one of those, the 185 for reaching the Eastbourne SF last year, will drop off this coming week. And since she reached the SF last year, it's another reason she should have been given a place in the tournament this year, even if oh so too bad she plays with a foreign partner.

Very impressed how Katie managed to dig herself out of 0-40 there. Obviously has Collins rattled because she got her coach down at the change of ends.

I really dislike on court coaching.

Swan - 4-6 *0-0

Couldn't rescue a 0-40 a second time.

Coach came and said she needs to up her first serve percentage because shes put too many in the net. Also to use slice serve as her opponent doesnt like it!

Good to hear that Katie is using the on-court coaching - not something she will be used to.
