I think the main damning part of Ernie's post (And many tx for the info) is not whether the youngsters will win a match or no. Or about Dan.
But the fact that all the kids are on the Player Support Programme, that only those kids are considered and - worst- That effectively those kids are being bribed with promises of wildcards to sign the pro contracts and therefore skupper college chances.
We also know that such love can be very short lived - No wc for Jodie this year.

Yes, the point you and Ernie make is concerning. Sometimes college would be the better option or another route because everyone is different. And then what happens when you fall out of favour? You are a wee bit stuck.

I do know from an inside source that the LTA are actively looking to place young players into the US College system where they feel it is in the players best interest.  They are also working directly with certain colleges and are very particular about which college for which player.

Evans back on court vs Findel-Hawkins. Will be doing occasional updates rather than game by game. Findel-Hawkins breaks for 2-0. Evans warned for audible obscenity after double fault.

Liam Broady tweeted that he wished there had been a livestream for the "fireworks" in the Klein / Bambridge match. Does anyone know what happened?

There seemed to be some niggle around klein possibly feigning injury but again that's only from the feed.

Evans 5-2* down in 2nd set. Asks for more water but the organisers have no more bottles left. Evans: "My legs have completely gone. Two matches in one day".

Findel-Hawkins holds to love to serve out the second set 6-3. Into a decider they go.

Dan Evans digging deep 3-0 in decider. Quite impressed with Findel Hawkins.
