So pleased for Dan but like others can't help but feel that someone else has missed out unnecessarily.

Totally agree, farcical all around really.

Indeed. Really glad to see Dan is through. But he shouldn't be here and Marcus and Jack look to have put in very good efforts. These two might have produced an interesting FQR.

Liam Broady tweeted that he wished there had been a livestream for the "fireworks" in the Klein / Bambridge match. Does anyone know what happened?

I have no idea what happened today but remember Brydan had a lot of needle with Cam last year with Luke courtside supporting his good friend Cam.

Would make some film if in just over 3 weeks after all that has gone before Dan was then to become the first British Wimbledon men's singles champion for 2 years ( OK, Andy spoils that last bit a little ).

Fantastic result for Dan and a good test of his endurance. I loved his response to questions about Wimbledon without him. It strikes me he has no expectation of special treatment and is determined to give it a go. Plenty of time for a bit of r n r before qualys kick off next week hopefully he will get another three games on grass as preparation for the main event.

I dont think that Dan should have had to go through the play-offs - a minimum of a QWC given his form - but I am pleased he has made it. One benefit of course for qualifying rather than straight into the main draw is that ranking points are available (0, 8, 16, 25) depending on round reached together with a further 10 if he plays in the first round.

These could well help further along the line.

George Bellshaw was one of those I was following on twitter during the match. A good bit of reporting.

I like the description of pre-qualifying as "the scenic route".  smile

I think that is the best thing ever published in the metro. If only Willbomb had been able to manage his carbs like his searingly flat backhand and monster lefty serve he would have been a marvellous asset to the ATP tour an antidote for some of the sterile personalities at the top, but perhaps thats what you need to get there. I hope he gets a trial behind the mike sooner rather than later! What a perfect person to be commenting on Wimbledon Qualifying
