Week 25 - ATP 500 - Fever-Tree Championships - The Queen's Club, London (grass)

Great effort from Dan and proving he can still mix it with the top tier players. But for that one awful game the match was there for him, shame he couldnt hold on and get the win but plenty of positives.

And it all fell away. 4-6 6-0 5-7
Close but not quite. Dan playing well above top 100 level, but just missed out.

I think that that is going to be a challenge for Dan, it's one of the markers of the top tier and the next - their ability to maintain concentration. Hopefully he'll get that back.

Yes it was all down to that service game when he really had been looking in control. But at least Kyle has made it!

L16:  Nick Kyrgios (AUS) WR 21 vs (7) Kyle Edmund WR 17

I fear Kyrgios, if he's actually fit, may just have too much for Kyle on grass, but I'd love to be proved wrong.

And it was all going so well until the ninth game of the decider.  It would appear that Dan went off the boil/lost focus a bit when he served for the match at 5-3!  disbelief

Yup, I think that was the one where he was broken to love.  Mental midget (are you allowed to say that?) unfortunately.   He had that match, but  he either got scared or was already mentally celebrating or something.     Such a shame 'cos he has such a great game.

Great win for Kyle, still a couple of years off his best.

Well done Kyle. Unfortunately I didn't watch much of his match, even though I had two windows up on my screen. His confidence really has grown though, and it showed.

If the like of Querrey, Bautista and co. are anything to go by, he's about 5-8 years away from his best.
