Not quite Peter. Ka has a bye into the second (and final) qualifying round, Soumeya plays Daniella Silva (POR) UNR in the QR1, with the winner playing Ka.
Yeah, I was just looking at the ITF site which has her 10th highest but her ranking at 461 when she is 426 now and I see she is above some who were listed higher at the time. How do you know she is 7th by the way? Manually calculated it or is there a specific site you use?
Remember that seeding is based on the computer ranking of the Monday 7 days before the tournament week, so 28th May
Yeah, keep forgetting that and saw she has moved ahead of 2 and likely one more since. Anyway, good that she has seeded and definitely hope she avoids Fran now, a nice WC for either would be good.
The doubles draw is out here now, but not yet the singles.
Only Brit doubles participant is Soumeya who has managed to bag herself a very decent partner, Sofia Shapatava (GEO) WR 218, with whom EWS played several times in France in Oct-Nov 17.
First up they will have a rematch with Daniella Silva who put Soumeya out of the singles qualifying. She has far better odds this time. Winners will play the 2nd seeds.
R16: Soumeya ANANE/ Sofia SHAPATAVA (GBR/GEO) 1400 (1182+218) vs Ekaterina SHALIMOVA/ Daniella SILVA (RUS/POR) 2126 (1081+1045)

This R16 doubles match is also scheduled for later today. It wasn't on the original OOP, even earlier this morning, which had just the remaining q matches on it.
That result alone should lift Soumeya about 200 places and into the top 1000 doubles. It doubles her current points tally and is her first counter that is more than 1 point.
