Fuzion 100 = coconut water Any guesses on the wildcards? James Ward George Loffhagen Alex Ward Neil Pauffley/Marcus Willis
Hi - just to clarify I'm familiar with fuzion 100 drinks! It was the reference to God's own county that tickled my fancy!
And that's exactly how I interpreted it, knowing your Yorkshire background. Am Yorkshire-born myself, in the days when Middlesbrough was part of the North Riding & my family looked south for its allegiance rather than north to Skunk & Deckchair land, i.e. I'm Yorkshire before I'm English, English before I'm British & British before I'm European. That said, I'm a convinced "Remainer"! Haven't lived up there since the late 70s, though, & certainly don't sound like one.
L32: (WC) George Loffhagen WR 892 (CH = 875 last month) vs Qualifier
L32: Liam Broady WR 167 (CH = 154 in April) vs (8) Sergiy Stakhovsky (UKR) WR 133 (CH = 31 in September 2010 - he's now 32)
L32: (3) Thomas Fabbiano (ITA) WR 111 (CH = 70 in September last year) vs (WC) Alex Ward WR 327 (CH = 242 in June 2016) L32: Alexander Bublik (KAZ) WR 144 (CH = 95 last September) vs (WC) Aidan McHugh WR 957 (CH = 952 last month)
L32: Darian King (BAR) WR 168 (CH = 106 in May last year) vs (WC) Jack Draper UNR (but only 16)
Pleased for Billy. Finn's has plenty of time on his side and is one for the future. Billy deserves some success given he is doing it the hard way, and as his only other QR1 match this year in Challengers was against a guy called Dan Evans, it is good to see him get the win today.
So the MD WCs for Ilkley have largely gone to top junior aged players. I don't know what that tells us re whether some may usurp the old names for Wimbledon Q WCs.
It tells us we have a minimum of three exciting prospects in whose development it is well worth investing. Generally we would have one or no juniors worthy of pushing with any potential to gain experience likely to be of value later.
I see these guys and perhaps two or three others as having the potential to be Challenger regulars as teenagers. Jay sits in a void between Kyle/Cam and these guys but exciting times just round the corner in terms of British Challengrr Tennis relevant to the ATP tour later. You take it s number of ways but a glass half full moment for me.

It tells us we have very few prospects ready to win at challenger level at the moment, other than the same old.
Appreciate Oakie's optimism but I'm rather with you, paulisi.
It's a sad state of affairs when you basically have to give all the wildcards to juniors (no matter how talented they are), and you have zero players age 18-23 to give them to.
Indeed, the fact that only one - Liam, age 24 - has qualified as of right - is awful.
