and Olivia Nicholls is playing with Gabi Taylor not Grey?? Bizarre as Grey is here and lost in Qualifying

I thought it was strange at first, but thinking about it more I assume Beth will need to keep herself free for the qualifying play-offs at the end of the week.

What a horrendous draw for Maia for her first match on grass.

I assume Beth wants to get down to London for the WC playoffs, and didn't want to play doubles this week

Yes, makes sense, leaving Olivia with a partner that certainly won't need to concern herself with WC play-offs so they can give it their best shot.

Am I right in saying that completes a wipeout today in that all our men and women lost on grass today? Some grim results its fair to say, and at the wrong time with Wimbledon WCs about to be announced. Hopefully Dan can salvage something tomorrow.

And there are few others playing tomorrow as well

So I am right sadly

I was meaning more from a Wild Card point of view. Nobody left that would enhance their chances. I think if Katy had won today that would have sealed a MDWC, however I think she is going to be the unfortunate one and just miss out.

Yeah, it is a bit disappointing. Everyone would have been the underdogs, but not even one set between the women I think. There's been a few shock results on grass already so you kind of hoped one might do something, but most of them, bar SBG look comprehensive defeats.

I thought there may have been a chance here and there. Thought Eden might have had a chance against the Japanese player who Tara beat 2 and 3 the other week, but she lost by pretty much the same score herself. Then the likes of Jaimee Fourlis, obviously a lot higher ranked (and ultimately better) than Emily Ap, but she lost a set to Nell Miller the other week and won two tight sets (including a tie break) vs Eden S and you think this could maybe be close, like 6-4 6-4 or Em taking a set or something, yet she gets beat 0 and 1. You'd think having the chance that you normally wouldn't get, being at home, in some cases (as an advantage) playing on grass etc. it might level the playing field a bit, but not to be.

Yeah, it's going to be borderline with Katy I think. I had written her off getting one before her win over Vikhylantseva as I thought she was a fair bit behind the other younger players - recent heavy defeats (Lykina, Hon, Hozumi), no title in 2018, barely a top 200 win this year, a bit older than the rest (bar Broady), only a win vs WC Jodie on grass etc. But that win did boost her chances and put her back in contention (IMO), she followed that up with another expected win over Jodie but I think she might have really needed the victory today - going to be touch and go.

Does anyone have a link for the livestream at Ilkley? I see there's one available through the ITF live scores site but I can never get this to work. Is it possible to go directly through Livestream? I'd really like to watch Gabi later on if at all possible. Thanks in anticipation.

What's happening to Gabi? She's lost the first set 6-1.

Yet Yastremska has had 2 matches so far on grass before today and hadnt even won a set, losing to Claire Liu last week ranked below Katy circa 220.

What an awful couple of days - must have had 8 matches and I literally don't think they've managed a set between them - Eden, Emily, Beth, Jo, Heather, Gabi, Katy, Katie B. Obviously some (or most) were expected to lose, but 16 sets and not even a losing the break between them is a bit pathetic.

The men have been just as bad mind.
