Dan might be catching Stefan at a good time - looks like hes had a pretty average year.

3 byes for 100k qualifying is not a great look!

 Yes, I agree. On both.

Never rated Stefan much (though imagine Dad will be there in force and any match against a touted youngster is intersting)

And the byes are a disgrace.

Surprised by the byes as well. Would expect a Billy Harris/Marcus Willis to be around and sign in. Although is it still French club tennis season?
Slightly lower quality field than last year as I think all 8 seeds were top 200 last year.

The Surrey based British toffs that run British tennis have yet again showed themselves up, by not giving EVO a WC.

The fact is that Evo is a maverick and rebel, and the worst nightmare for the elite toffs that run tennis in this country.

Surbiton is suburban but not snotty toffs. Nothing like queens or places like that. And evo acted like a complete prat last time he was there - he's only got himself to blame

I dont think that was last year Coup. Last year he was well behaved, helping and supporting the younger players and was unlucky to be injured in the quarters. Which slightly redeemed him from histrionics the previous year.

No. You're right. It was the year before. And he's been sweet and doing selfies and stuff this year too. I wish him all the best.

Playing qualifying here won't do Evo any harm at all.

And if he finds cumulative matches ( and hopefully he will have cumulative matches ) again a bit tough going the irony is that that just shows that it's probably good to give him these matches to help him build and show him where he's at re his match and general fitness.

If fitness is an issue it's maybe best he's playing the seed in Q1 to get the toughest match out of the way first. Seems to be working at the moment - Dan has won the first set 6-1
