If you read the women's threads too, you'll have already seen this, but for those who only follow the men, I'll repeat my post here ...
I'm off to Surbiton tomorrow, Tuesday. My sleep schedule is still on mid-Atlantic time so I might not quite make it for 11, but I'll head for Katy v Jodie first once I get there.
If anyone else is going and wants to meet up, feel free to private message me here before midnight tonight and I'll let you know my mobile number by the morning or DM me on Twitter (@gbtennis) any time between now and close of play tomorrow.
With such a packed OoP tomorrow, you'll probably be rushing around trying to take in as much as possible just as I will, but at least if we know each other is there and have some contact details, there's a chance we'll see each other, even if just to say hello!
Popped across the Pond for your annual "green stuff" fix, then, Steven?

Not quite - I've been here since 1 January, just taking a week's break from everything else I've been having to sort out while there's a chance to see tennis nearby

Why is Britain the only country where home officials disadvantage home players?
Jay blew the break at 2-1 but the second serve ace he served at 3-4 40-30 that was called a double fault would not happen in any other country. I've watched it several times and its never wide, yet line judge from other end of court saw that as out.

Ah, real pity
But presumably an honest mistake rather than being anti Jay. Are you suggesting that our officials should judge in favour of Brits when in doubt ( or maybe even not too much doubt ) as that is what you think occurs elsewhere re home players?
That call could easily have changed the course of the match. There bis a big difference between 3-1 and 2-2 in the final set. From where I was sitting, the top of the net was in line with the corner of service box so I can't really pass comment. The umpire is along way from that line so it would have to be a gross error for her to over rule.
Alex Bolt deserved the W. He played an excellent first set. In the 2nd, his level dropped somewhat and a break of serve never looked likely. Alex played a poor tiebreak to gift the second set to Jay.
On a couple of occasions, Alex hit remarkable forehands after Jay absolutely nailed his own forehand to within a few inches of the baseline. Super short swing, but with great power and control. I would be very unsuprised if Alex Bolt wins a few more rounds.
This was the first time I've seen Jay play. His forehand is quite spinny for the fresh grass of Surbiton. I'm sure we'll be seeing plenty more of him in the years to come
I'm not working today, so should be there more or less from the start! Please send me a PM if you fancy saying Hi.
