Comfortable enough for Jamie and Bruno, but a shame that he is only one left in. Maybe Ken and Neal (and Dom) will get straight on the grass next week, might do them good to get into the swing quickly.
I'd still though be thinking very carefullly before even considering calling time on a partnership that even this year continues as relatively much more successful than what Jamie has enjoyed through the vast bulk of his career. I would hope that they stay together for the rest of the year anyway and see where they are at then and how they feel about things.
The tricky thing with so few doubles matches being televised or written about in general is that it can be hard to determine if one partner is the cause of any decline in play. It seems the decision to split with Peers was at least in part down to a feeling that he was the weak link and it was his nerves that ultimately meant defeat in the two major finals he played with Jamie. Not saying that was correct but that was definitely the vibe coming from Jamie's camp when the split was announced.
Bruno and Jamie so far seem to have succeeded and failed very much as a duo and I have not seen any clear indication that either feels the other is to blame for them not managing to repeat the success of 2016. If they believe it is simply a combination of form and luck that has not gone their way lately they may well endure for some time to come but if either of them feels the blame lies squarely on the others shoulders then a separation is likely and probably necessary.
