Freya Christie is also in the doubles and the #2 seed with Victoria Rodriguez (MEX). She will get the change for a revenge match with Ulrikke Eikeri in the first round.

Freya has been disappointing saw her a few years ago in Glasgow when she was 17 she was very good. Her form has dipped since that epic Wimbledon Qualifier 2/3years ago

Strange, isn't it, how certain matches do seem to provide a watershed moment. Not to say it defines her whole career but it most certainly had a big effect, both physically (those back problems) and mentally (it was SO won, that match, and at Wimbly too).

Rather like Josh Milton's 'stolen' match at Wimbly Qualis which he never seemed to get over (although he was a fair bit older, of course)

I see Alicia is a slight favourite vs her higher ranked opponent, whereas Maia has been made slight underdog vs her lower ranked opponent. Perhaps taking into account home advantage. Think I'd rather they have faced each other to guarantee one going through.

Oh, I always like the opportunity of both of them to go through, unless the draw is really strong, then its good to have at least one guaranteed smile

It looks like neither of them will go through.

Maia lost 2-6 3-6
Lissey is down a set and a break 3-6 *1-3

Katy's not finding it easy either. Having just edged the first, she's behind in the second 7-5 1-3*

The final 2 points were completed quickly. Lissey loses 3&1.
Always troubling when there is a MTO in the middle of a game. I hope whoever it was for is okay.
