Also, they were showing the women's match from centre court on a screen in the clubhouse when I went, so there's definately a camera showing it!

Pity for Katy but yes that was a tough one.

Our GB ranked 6, 7 and 8 are very close in the live 11/08 rankings. I can agree the current openerarankings figures :

Katy D  247 points
Katie S  247
Harriet  234

Katie S of course plays Harriet in R2 here, with a win for Harriet taking her to 246, even tighter. Or of course a win for Katie S taking her to 259. And maybe still more for the winner of that encounter.

Katy D is the only one of the 3 with points due off next week for the 18/06 rankings, with 13 ( net 8 ) to come off.

Well done to Harriet. Updated live points ...

Katy D  247

Katie S  247

Harriet  246

I must admit I thought philwrig was a a great guy when I met him. Iknow I've met one other forumite, but can't remember who it was. Was it you paulisi?

I don't believe so. I've met a few, but I don't think I was Edgbaston when you met Phil.

No, you weren't but I thought I might have met you at Shrewsbury?

openerarankings.com/WTAHome and live-tennis.eu/en/wta-live-ranking are giving different stories about wheat our girls are doing compared to real life, is this normal, and generally which is more reliable? Thanks.

openerarankngs is usually on the ball - but it looks like they've credited Katie with the win rather than Harriet !

Yes, on this occasion Helen, they both have mistakes! But you can see where you are with the openerarankings whereas you can't with live.tennis.eu.

Presently the OER site has credited both Katie B and Katie S with R16 wins, though Katie B has yet to play and Harriet, who hasn't yet been credited, beat Katie. But otherwise the OER rankings are correct, eg for Gabi, and with regard to the current live rank positions of the others, whereas I can see many more errors on the live.tennis.eu site too.

I bet Katy was hoping Swan would have won that match. Great win for Dart though and she's had some superb wins in 2018.

Yes, indeed, I was going to say that http://openerarankings.com/WTAHome is very good. That's the first mistake I've seen but they actually show Katie S as into the QF so it's certainly based on the wrong result and hopefully will be sorted soon.

I barely look at live-tennis any more for singles. It can have loads of different issues, this time seems mainly about not allowing for points due to come off. Harriet would particularly love if that was the case!

Looks like Harriet wrapped that up just in time - play suspended due to heavy showers and looks bad until at least 5pm. Hopefully Katie B gets to complete her match today.

Just to update on the singles in one place, since Peter's last post is several pages back now. Katie B the one remaining R16 match due to be played, warming up now.

R16: TAYLOR, Gabriella (GBR) 184 beat STOLLAR, Fanny (HUN) 165 =CH 6-2 6-3
R16: DART, Harriet (GBR) 203 beat SWAN, Katie (GBR) WC 237 6-2 6-4
R16: DUNNE, Katy (GBR) 212 lost to RISKE, Alison (USA) 2 83 CH=36 15/5/17 5-7 0-6

R16: BOULTER, Katie (GBR) 163 v FETT, Jana (CRO) 5 109 CH=97 30/10/17

I doubt if Harriet has played a former WR 12 before!

QF: TAYLOR, Gabriella (GBR) 184 vs Conny PERRIN (SUI) 193 (CH:181 Dec 16)
QF: DART, Harriet (GBR) 203 vs Yanina WICKMAYER (BEL) [4] 105 (CH:12 April 10)
