RE: Week 26 - ATP 250 - Nature Valley International - Eastbourne, Great Britain (grass)

L28:  (WC) Cameron Norrie WR 80 (CH = 79 earlier this month) vs (8) Marton Fucsovics (HUN) WR 45 (= CH)

That won't be easy!  no

L28:  (WC) Stan Wawrinka (SUI) WR 261 (CH = 3 in January 2014) vs (WC) Andy Murray WR 156 (CH = 1 in November 2016)  disbelief
L28:  BYE vs Kyle Edmund WR 17 (= CH)

That is such a shame, the organisers can't be happy with Stan vs Andy...we were joking tennis gods, we weren't serious.

Getting ahead of myself but should Jay come through qualies, the spots are: Lacko, R Harrison, Ferrer and Kukushkin.

Jack Sock is top seed (as an alt !)

Daniel Brands has just seen him off in straight sets.

Yes, as flamingowings pointed out, his singles form is pretty poor this year

Sock was notoriously lazy and poor in his preparation before fluking a Masters win last year, I imagine that success has only made him harder to coach and motivate. He has enough natural talent to win a major but without a swift change in attitude he is going to be following the Bernie Tomic route to having to qualify at minor ATP events.

re: first sentence -  It was all Kyle's fault!!

I dunno about Sock, his doubles form seems fine - twitter comments I've seen say his relationship finished.

So, assuming Andy doesn't win here and then doesn't play Wimbledon - he is unranked at that point, isn't he?

Yep, back to futures qualifying !

Actually he'll have SE for some time to come yet, so will still get into tournaments without WC's

Yes, Bob, I did mean PR. I'd been checking something in the WTA rulebook, and got my PR, SR and SE 's scrambled in my head

First set in the bag for Jay by 6-4.  smile
