Both Maia and Lissey have their first round opponents now. Interesting draws, but neither straightforward, especially Lissey who will do well to pull out a win. Her opponent's SE is because of reaching the 25k SF in Goyang last week...

For Maia, she plays a good junior player, but then she was a good junior herself (JCH:40) and has a year's more experience now. Dominique Schaefer is only 19 yrs and has a JCH:23.

Maia up a set 6-0 *2-3.
Lissey had a slow start being broken early. But since then it has been fairly even 3-6 7-6(3) 2-2*

Then it went downhill for Lissey, losing the decider 2-6

After the great start for Maia, she lost the second 3-6. I'm guessing she won the decider 6-3, as live score is stuck at 5-3 Adv Maia.

I also note they are playing indoors today.

Freya + have taken the first set 7-5 after being 0-3 down. Looks like steady progress from that low point.

Edit - typo on score - thank christ
