Kawa lists her coach as: Angelique Kerber!

For people who follow the 'quasi-Brits', the Ambaye sisters are playing this tournament.

And I'm 99.9% sure that they are half British.

(although they're not really rising stars so if we had to poach some players then, purely economically, there are better prospects to go for).

Make Izzy British Again!!! MIBA MIBA MIBA

Anyway... Sarah Beth made it over the border in sufficient time, and is engaged in close first set, 2 breaks a piece, 5-4*

I see that the matches on court 2 were over so quickly that they moved one over from Court Central !
Well done to Alpha Ambaye for winning all three of the games from the five matches played on that court so far.

I notice there's a young French lady playing called Excellent, unfortunately it was her opponent who excelled, winning 0 and 0.

Excellent was considerably less than excellent, and Alpha was Omega.

Well done to Ms. Grey, hotfoot across the Pyrenees, and into the next round

Sara Cakarevic (age 21) is an interesting player in that she barely played tennis seriously until the age of 18. Just local club stuff, no juniors, no real travelling - her parents (Serbian, and from Montenegro) wanted her to focus primarily on school.
But she decided to give it a go seriously after her Bac, mid 2015, and next year won the nationals for deuxieme series (sort of low ITF level) and is now just outside the top 300. She's won some 15k titles but not really theatened to break through majorly. So nothing scary as such for Beth.

Re: Eden, did I dream it or is this tournament held at the club she plays for in the French league? She could have received at WC?
