Good entry for North Oxford as you say - Alexis Canter also playing, btw why is he only rated 2.1 v 1.1 for the rest, he is the 4th highest ranked player entered!?

 The LTA rankings often seem a bit daft. It can't be because he hasn't done enough at LTA level to warrant a higher rating. Otherwise, Federer would come and be ranked 10.2. There must be some equivalency calculation, surely? 

I think Alexis comes from Oxfordshire way, too, so it's a local event for him.

Actually, I think it is all to do with matches at LTA level. You have to win so many matches against other rated players to improve your rating. But if you have the playing record, it is possible to request a higher rating by emailing them with details. It's irrelevant for the players with an ATP/WTA ranking though, as there are usually very few of them in the British Tour events, and the seeding goes on their ranking. So if Federer really wished to play in an LTA event, he would have to apply for a rating first.

Like many players Sloane provides a very inconsistent guideline, dependant on what player turns up on the day.
