Week 19 - ITF ($60K) - Lu'an, China- Hard

Emily is very smart, intelligent, savvy and self-motivated.
She finds opportunities wherever she can, consulting, coaching, commentary etc, and is very good at marketing herself, and proving her value as an asset to her clients.
She is CEO of Emily Webly-Smith Corp. and runs it very well through sheer hard work.
She's like the ITF's Timea Bacsinszky, except even more so.
Admirable.

I was about to comment, but the last three posts have said it all. I find Emily's writings entertaining, informative and amusing - and look forward to each post she makes. She certainly does work very hard, and lives frugally - I remember one post where she said that her doubles earnings for the week just about paid for her food and accommodation - and we all know how little the prize money is.

Some clearly marketing posts from folk can irritate. But with Em I can't help but smile. What's this energy drink I have holding in my hand at the end of a strenuous workout, it's great. Did I mention its name, was the label facing the right way?

I remember one time when Emily got free board and lodging over the tournament by coaching the manager of the Indian hotel where she was staying. smile

Looks like Em feels she was on the receiving end of some skulduggery today.

Or alternatively bad loser, sour grapes etc.

always amazes me how Emily can afford to jet round the world playing tennis because her earnings from tennis would barely cover the air fares and accommodation, She must have very rich parents.

Double barrelled name adored by our resident Tory. Not really a surprise

Impressively efficient again from Harriet. Tracking along not that far behind the rather more talked about Gabi and Katie B and looking very good of late.

One more win here will have her into the top 200 ( currently live ranked 206 ) and I am sure I am not alone in revising my thoughts a bit on where this young lady can get to.

I do not particularly like the Conservatives or what they stand for. I also think Tennis in this country is still elitist. But I do not think we should be assuming political leanings here, nor digging at people for perceived political views. Also, a double-barrelled name a posh person does not make.

Like her or not, here is Emily's latest writing on tennis, within an article by Stephanie Miles which has some background on her tennis career.

Harriet is back out again in the doubles, with Em's good mate, Ankita, (this is another striking thing about EWS, the variety and number of good friends she has made on the tour - her length of tenure alone does not explain it she's just good with people)
Harriet & Ankita, *2-1
