Continues to be very competitive in matches that go the distance. This is the 7th time out of 9 this year that she has won a match that has gone to 3 sets after she lost the first set.
Overall in matches that have gone 3 sets since the start of 2017 she is 23-11 ( WL 3rd set : 10-6, LW 3rd set : 13-5 )
Her overall win % for matches after losing the first set in 2018 is 46.67% (7-8) That has her third amongst Brits, only bested by Olivia Nicholls (2-2, 50.00%), FRancesca Jones (4-4, 50.00%); then Tara, Jo, Harriet & Katie S the only others over 33.33% Interestingly Gabi is 0-3 after losing the first set. She doesn't lose the first set often But, we can watch to see whether this ability to tough out results is something she can develop.
Katie joins a very select group of GB women to win a title above $25K since 2000: Pullin (Hobbs), Keothavong, Baltacha, Konta, Watson, Broady, Robson, Boulter All but Pullin went on to make the WTA top 100.
Now 7 GB titles at $25K or above in 2018. Only half way through May, and that is already our second highest haul since 2000. Only 2008, with 8 titles was better. GB Women have thus now won a title at $50K/$60K level or above in each of the last 6 years, and 11 of the last 12 years; 2012 was the year we missed out - all our best 4 players were on the WTA the whole year.
This was the tenth GB womens professional singles title of the year: 1 x $60K, 6 x $25K, 3 x $15K
All sorts of records being set by the group, and the top 10 averages, and the individuals. Just fabulous

Data I post, opinions I offer, 'facts' I assert, are almost certainly all stupidly wrong.
A superb win by Katie - congratulation, I'm so pleased for her. Also for me - I predicted she's be GB No3 by the end of the year and she's looking to be on track for that now - if not better!
Huge congrats to Katie B there, that's a massive win today to cap off a magnificent week for her.
As Indy notes, she will rocket up to WR 152 next week and a massive CH, but more importantly, even once her 48 pts (net 46) come off the following week, she will still be approx WR 169. This of course is on the assumption she gets 0 pts next week - but she is still down to play Karume. I am wondering though, since if she does she will then fly straight back to play French Open qualifiers (whereas presumably Gabi is already practising in Spain). Whatever Katie does, she has now put a firm grasp on that GB#4 position for the time being, as Gabi also has 50 pts coming off in a week, and will only just stay in the top 200 after they do.
And a really exciting time for all this GB#4-9 group - and look forward to others joining them too

Gabi is still in Southampton (according to her instagram anyway)
