Week 19 - ITF ($60K) - Fukuoka, Japan - Hard

Tara's route to the main draw is challenging to say the least. This first match is going to be no pushover whatsoever, and then likely opponent in QR2 is one Abbie Meyers, conquerer of Naomi Broady this week!! Abbie doesn't even have a q rank.

QR1: Tara MOORE (GBR) [q2] 444 vs Ayumi MIYAMOTO (JPN) 833 (CH:789 July 17) 17yrs (JCH:17 Jan 17)

Naomi, Gabi, Katie B, Laura, Katy D are all on the MD acceptance list here. It's possible that they could all be seeded except for Katy D.

They are all seeded according to that - NB 1, GT 4, KB 5, LR 8 - so that would avoid those playing each other (or any other seeds) until the QFs and with LR ranked 222 and seeded, it's not going to be the strongest field. KD could well face a compatriot or top seed, but it should make for a much more favourable draw this week than Gifu.

Pity, Katy D was next in line on the acceptance list.

Good to see Tara come through that match unscathed, even if she took an extra few games there at the end. Now she has Abbie Myers though, of the unfathomable ranking. Just to note that following her run to the SF this week, Abbie's live ranking is 427, which will be a CH for her (and up 214 places). So her live ranking is higher than Tara's, which probably makes Abbie favourite. Nevertheless, Tara has shown some streaks of returning form lately...

QR1: Tara MOORE (GBR) [q2] 444 beat Ayumi MIYAMOTO (JPN) 833 (CH:789 July 17) 17yrs (JCH:17 Jan 17) 6-4 6-2

QR2: Tara MOORE (GBR) [q2] 444 vs Abbie MYERS (AUS) 641 (CH:472 June 15) Will be 427=CH this coming week.

The good news for Tara is she will be in the Main Draw in next weeks 60k at least so should have a better chance for points if she doesnt add this week.

Must have been a bit of money going on Tara today. I checked this morning and Tara and Abbie were both 5/6 at Bet365 to win the match, whereas now, 8 hours or so later, it is Tara 1/3 vs Myers 9/4 - that's a pretty significant change.

Very rarely bet, just very interested in the odds and often use them for streaming purposes. I also find that 365 tend to have the most tennis markets.
