That is Maia's best ever rankings win outside of the UK - it is the only entry in her top 10 results to come outside the UK. That's a good category to be building on - win anywhere!

Yes, had the distinct but subjective impression that Maia doesn't travel well, so a very encouraging result.

Very good from Maia, and Sam Murray's hold on GB #10, while not even playing, will end on Monday week.

In running points for 21/05 :

10. Maia 82 ( clearly can add more this week )
11. Tara 80 ( can add next week )
12.  Sam 80 

Edit: swapped Tara ahead of Sam, not that it matters much, since I think Tara's WTA tour qualifying points will put her ahead on tiebreak. This coming Monday Sam will still be ahead on 81 points.
