Week 19 - ITF ($25K) - Goyang, Korea Rep - Hard

Freya is both injured a lot, and prone to mentally wander quite a lot. Could be either, both of those, Alicia playing well, all or none!
But, Ms. Christie at least gets herself to the TB - Alicia edged the overall points going in to the TB
6-6

Alicia took the TB to complete quite a comeback in the set, 7-6(5)

An excellent first line, blob. Yes, yes, and yes.

However, whichever way, it will be great for Alicia if she qualifies too - she's been working hard and I like her gumption and the fact she's a college player - I'd like to see her make the top 500 which is where I'd pegged for her for, all going well.

I think this is the first 25k that Alicia has managed to come through qualifying in so well done to her.

And Alicia does put out the q1 seed and take the 1pt for reaching the main draw. She was 5-1 in the second set, before Freya clawed two games back, but then Alicia broke again.

FQR: BARNETT, Alicia (GBR) [q10] 645 beat CHRISTIE, Freya (GBR) [q1] 521 7-6(5) 6-3

Nope, 4th time CD - Shrewsbury (Nov 17), Loughborough (Feb 18), Hua Hin (May 17) before. She has also reached the L16 in a 25k once before (Woking Aug 17), but that is the only MD 25k match she has won so far.

Oh well, I was close then smilesmilesmile

Sorry, Lissey - I'd pegged some of those down as widlcards. Oops.

She had 2 25k MD WCs - Woking and Chiswick, both last August biggrin

Maia's resurgence did not waver, and she quickly wrapped up a much easier second set, and thus, the match, 7-6(3) 6-1
