Kyle will not beat Novak or Kei, you can take that to the bank, and Medvedev is 50/50 at best.

agreed nishikori certainly is playing ok and will beat djoko.  Can't see kyle beating him, nishikori has a strong clay game

Djoko has just beaten Nishikori in straight sets, 5&4

well, there you go -  I know nothing!

To be fair, pleased for Djoko be interesting to see how well he actually played, but a win is a win.

With Nishikori having QF points from last year coming off, Kyle had moved ahead of him to live ranked 21 which would be a further CH. Kyle will now clearly finish the week ahead of Kei.

Kyle will have to win at least two matches to have a chance of top 20 with Chung and Fognini in his sights.

Chung and Fognini have both lost in R1. Robin Haase beat Chung 6-2 6-0 !

Of the 7 players ranked WR 17 to 23 inclusive Kyle is the only one still remaining.

Good effort

And the preceding match annoyingly going into a decider;  shouldn't be long now though.

L56:  Kyle Edmund WR 22 defeated Daniil Medvedev (RUS) WR 51 by 4 & 0  smile

*****

L32:  Kyle Edmund WR 22 vs (10) Novak Djokovic (SRB) WR 12 (CH = 1 in July 2011)

Kyle has so far played NoDjo three times, though never on clay, most recently in Indian Wells last year,  & has yet to beat him.  There's a first time for everything, Kedders...!

Given Djokovic's recent form, you would have to say that this is Kyle's best chance yet of a victory. Still starts as underdog though in my book.
