Takes a partnership to win at doubles - and as far as I can tell, the opposition hadn't played together since September 2015. I had faith in our pair !
Yes, a good result for Beth and Olivia, who did have not the match all their own way by any means. The two sets were very different too. In the first set they went out quickly to a *5-1 lead but were then hauled back to 5-4*, before they managed to break again for the set. Second set they did extremely well after going 1-3 behind to then break back to 3-3, and then break again to win the match.
It does not get any easier for them, one of their next opponents has a top 100 doubles ranking, so it will be a good test for their budding partnership, but I agree with the addict, I expect them to have a good chance. In Obidos I liked their left/ right combination a lot, and did think their skills were complementary, even if of course they still need a lot of honing, especially their service games.
