Yes, just the 1 pt for Beth, and now to focus on the doubles...
R1: GREY, Sarah Beth (GBR)2 Q 610 lost to BOLSOVA ZADOINOV, Aliona (ESP) 355 CH=354 23/4/18 3-6 1-6
Cant believe Im actually going to say this, perhaps its the heat but Ive been thinking given Beths ability at winning in Doubles, particularly with Olivia, if she perhaps assesses by year end if this is the way to go. She has made progress to this 500 ranked ability marker, however its difficult to see her going higher than this ITF Plodder Level and moving up to the rest of her age group playing in Asia currently.
I disagreed with Jonny and mainly with Luke going down this route as Luke is certainly capable of getting to the top 200 at least in singles, but cant see that on this side. Thoughts?
Beth will become a doubles specialist at some stage, but you cannot make a living playing 25k doubles.
Once the doubles ranking is inside the top 150 then I suspect she will specialise.
Yeah that was what I was meaning, higher than 25k level. Anna Smith would be the example, however Anna was a better singles player than Beths current level and with a bit more luck could have been top 200.

Not sure what the rules are for "mid-ranking" players - how do they get entry into top level doubles ?
Bit closer than expected, but Beth and Olivia come through 6-4 6-4. They face the No 2 seeds from Mexico next.
I thought it was a very tough first round draw and that 4 and 4 was a great score. One of the opponents doubles ranked in the low 200's and her partner had beaten Beth 4 and 1 yesterday.
