7 minute Pera service game; Jo with multiple BP, but Pera came up with big serves every time. Pera is essentially playing Jo's exact game, just at this point in their careers, better.

Data I post, opinions I offer, 'facts' I assert, are almost certainly all stupidly wrong.
I found watching Jos match tonight so frustrating. She is clearly a very capable player but plan A seems to just revolve around hitting the ball harder and harder until she wins (or loses) the point. Unfortunately for Jo, I feel that opponents have worked her out and know that there is no plan B and nothing to break up their own game when things arent going so well.
I know that clay is not her best surface but somehow I feel I want to see her trying different things and showing some court craft. Other than at odd moments, I felt that the outcome was inevitable and that Pera would always win. Hopefully Jo can reflect on this and use in the upcoming clay tournaments but I fear that she might be on her own doing this as I really dont see Michael Joyce adding anything that particularly will help.
I hope that I am not coming across as being completely negative as I would love Jo to turn this around but I am just feeling that a re-set button is needed but I am not quite sure what the reset looks like.
P.S. Sorry I cant ever seem to get the punctuation on my posts right (I type commas etc In but they disappear!!) so if someone could help me that would be great...!!!

brittak - you have just stated what others on this forum have been thinking for a while. I for one am in complete agreement with you. Jo seems to be getting more and more bogged down with the same game plan. It isn't going to work on clay - and I doubt whether it is going to work on grass either this year.
I cant really understand whats going on with Jo Konta .
Shes obviously capable on her day of beating good opponents . It wasnt a fluke that she got into the top ten.
You can have a fluke tournament but not a year . It wouldnt be so concerning if her hard court results had been good but since Wimbledon last year its been very poor.
Its not like shes come up against some terrible draws , shes managed to lose to some very average opponents .
The big worry now is she has so many tanking points to defend so that puts even more pressure on her and she could well be hurtling down the rankings .
I agree that her lack of variety is a problem but there quite a few players that have this and maintain their ranking .

I always worry that I am seeming to be critical when all I want is for the GB players and Jo in this case to do well. I am sure that Jo can turn this around but it might mean a bit of thinking outside the box to do so.
