It's early days, but this looks a pretty decent match-up for Evo. The Aussie doesn't look like he has the weight of hitting to dominate and in a skills contest even a rusty Evo should have a clear edge...

A very tidy first set from Dan, he takes it 6-4. Never in trouble on his own serve. The standard of play is good, few UEs from either player.

Nice one Dan, moves him to 18 points now rankings wise, mid 800's. Another win (he will play Bambo or a qualifier so should win) will take him to 28 points and mid 700's.

The comeback is gathering a little momentum now.

Dan wins 4 & 2. He played a top quality match, broke serve three times and had BPs in two other games.

A brief loss of concentration at the start of the second set was the only time his own serve was under pressure, but he managed to hold.

He looked sharp and very motivated.

Agreed, especially as it wasn't a performance enhancing drug. He certainly needed some punishment but this was too harsh. Rules are rules I guess
